i just wanted to draw Keith with an energy sword, but then i had to go and come up with short backstories for each Paladin/Spartan aaah

Shiro
Shiro is the team leader, obviously. He’s very skilled in hand to hand combat as well as using Covenant tech/vehicles. He’s also the best pilot on the team. He keeps an assault riffle as his primary, like John-117.
After being captured by the Covenant, Shiro was held capture and interrogated mercilessly for a whole year, at one point he lost his arm due to the extreme torture he was put through. Eventually, he found a way to escape and made it back to the UNSC by commandeering a Covenant drop ship. Shiro cannot remember what happened during his time as a Covenant prisoner. Once he was deemed fit to continue fighting, he was assigned to a new fire team, Fire Team Voltron.
Keith
Keith used to fight along side Shiro on a different fire team, which Matt and one other spartan were part of. Matt and Pidge’s father however, was a scientist that held very important information regarding a Forerunner structure the Covenant was looking for. The team was to escort Dr. Holt to an evacuation point but were ambushed by a large swarm of Covenant troops. Keith was the only one who made it out. Shiro, Matt, and Dr. Holt were captured, the other spartan on the team was killed. Nobody knows Dr. Holt and Matt Holt’s whereabouts. After the failed mission, Keith was without a team, and became more of a lone wolf spartan, letting his assigned missions take him where he went.
Like Shiro, Keith is skilled in hand to hand combat, however, he’s more of a jack of all trades when it comes to weapons. It does not take him long to adapt to different weapons and environments, and he relies more on instinct than he does skill alone. He’s not afraid to improvise and take risks in dire situations. He keeps a knife his father gave him on him at all times. Once Shiro returned, Keith was reassigned to Fire Team Voltron along with Shiro.
