Description Today I spent some time painting the skin weights to the upper body, arms, hands, and fingers.
I also copied skin weights from the body onto her tubetop, skirt, belt, and pants
(So now I'm safe to post these test pose images here on DA).
I decided not to use cloth simulation for the sash, I like how the game-rip sash was poseable,
so I'm going to build the joint chain for the sash soon.

Are you going to keep her height canon? Ahsoka is 161cm in Season 1 and 170cm in Season 5. I guess it doesn't matter though unless you're putting her with other people.

Yes!
Thanks for asking, I create all of my digital characters to scale as exactly as possible.
I do a ton of research every time I consider making a 3d character model.
My goal is to make them as close to the original as possible.

Now to ask you something... Although I took care to make her exactly 161cm tall, how would you measure that height on her? I took the approach that we use for ordinary humans - 161cm from the floor to the top of her skull, not including her montrals. I could not find any reference material that indicated how height was measured for aliens or Togruta characters, so that was the method that made the most sense to me.

From what I know, Ahsoka is 161cm including the montrals. So the highest tip of her montrals would be at exactly 161cm. The top of Ahsoka's skull would probably be 1 or 2 inches lower.

But if you want to make her a few inches taller, that's fine too I guess

Please help me out and tell me your source for this height measurement information that includes the montrals. If this were true, then Shaak Ti at 178cm would actually be shorter than season3 Ahsoka at 170cm because her montrals are that much taller. 8cm is only like 3 inches difference but Shaak Ti's montrals look to be 10 to 12 inches above her skull. The clone wars action figures appear to be built to scale with each other and my Shaak Ti figure's eyes are taller than my season3 Ahsoka's eyes. This is one of the reasons why I chose to interpret the height measurement as the top of the skull instead of the top of the montrals.

Looking forward to your response!

Actually, I think you are right about Ahsoka's canon height NOT including the montrals. My mistake

In this picture she is standing next to Lux who is 178cm www.universostarwars.com.br/wpā€¦ And you can see the including her montrals they are the same height, but the top of her skull is a few inches lower.

In this picture she is standing next to Anakin who is 188cm images.wikia.com/theclonewiki/ā€¦ And you can see the height difference is not large enough to include the montrals.

Thank you so much for helping me feel more certain about my method of measuring her height. I felt that I was on the right track, but there was always a little uncertainty. I am much more confident now!

this model is amazing, are you planning to release it?

I'm happy that you enjoy the effort I've put into this project, but that was not actually on my 'To Do' list.

The terminology of "releasing" a model makes it sound like it is captive wildlife that yearns to be set free back into its native environment. LOL

This particular version of my Ahsoka model actually represents about 18 months of my life spent working on it. I am sad to admit that I have lost track of how many revisions of my Ahsoka model I've actually created since I started this project - I might be up to v4 or v5 by now. And I'm currently building an even better one. Since I'm not in the habit of performing challenging work for free, nothing short of a payment representing 18 months of labor would really get me interested in transferring my model file to anyone else.

Please feel encouraged to spend some of your time learning some 3d software so that you can create characters that other people enjoy viewing! That kind of motivation is what led me to create her in the first place. If you have enough motivation and perseverance you can accomplish some really cool things!

yes your model is amazing i have tried before to make 3d models but never have the time to get them finished. if you where to sell copies of her how much would you like?

Thanks again for your compliments.
At present I really doubt I would offer an affordable price. How much money would a person make for working over a year at a job? Assuming that it is not some kind of minimum wage job.

How about this idea? The possibility of selling 3d printed reproductions of this character has been brought to my attention recently. Poses to be discussed, clothing optional. I believe something along those lines would be more affordable. It would also be more appealing to me since I wouldn't be competing with myself when it comes to rendering pictures of my model.

a 3d printed model sounds like a good idea, but not something i would want just yet.

nice to see her out of those boots, curious is there an ep where she does?

I've never seen an episode where she is barefoot. I simply extrapolated the appearance of her feet from the shape of her hands.
