This is a random wallpaper thingie I did after re-discovering ~nmsmith 's gold embossing tutorial buried in my files
I used a fractal I was working with earlier, and decided it would be fun to work with it in Photoshop
Anyways, I want to dedicate it to the lovely =rocamiadesign , as a token of my appreciation for her constant support, and the support she continuously gives to the deviantART community

I really love the colors of this piece; they are cool and relaxing, making it easy to go with the flow. I also love the soft glow of the yellow shapes from behind the top and bottom portions of the picture. Really nice work

i have to admit that i'm not a fan of fractal art, i always take it lightly and consider it just a pretty looking image which doesn't really leave room for interpretation
however, i have a liking for this piece, i like the vivid colors and the contrast between them, as well as the fact that you used those non-fractal ornaments on the top and bottom margins. i do feel like something is missing from the picture, though, because there's nothing to capture the attention of the eye in the center of the image.
well, that's just my two cents. hope my comment is not offensive in any way.

Actually, your comment is quite the opposite to offensive, it's the type of comment I appreciate the most
It sometimes gets boring to just read all the time "How pretty!" or "Wow!" or "OMFG that's so awesomeness!" or anything that does not involve more than 5 seconds of typing
Anyhow, I see why you are not a fan of fractal art. In my opinion, I don't see myself as an artist, which is why I prefer to refer to myself in DA as a fractal maker, rather than artist. In my opinion, true fractal artists are rare in DA, but I like seeing at them pretty fractals anyhow, haha
I'm not entirely sure as to what would be missing in the picture, as the purpose of it was to create a nice-looking desktop background that would please my friend, and it worked, wasn't aiming for much more

i see... so it is just a pretty looking picture to put on your desktop. i guess this explains the whole purpose of fractals a bit. don't get me wrong, i'm not taking them lightly, as a matter of fact i'm constantly amazed by the way they're produced (probably because i can't understand the whole process very well

Oh well, don't take all fractals to be made for desktop backgrounds. The ones I do are mainly just to look pretty and please the viewer's eyes (often, I make them for MY eyes haha), but do be certain that there's some fractal artists who will know what they're aiming for since the beginning, and know how to work their way through the whole thing to achieve the desired outcome.
I've done that a few times, just not as many as I would've hoped for.
