Description
A Samurai while remember the old shiny times, when he was young and strong.The ideograms are about bushido and the seven way of the samurai.
I've done this piece for a contest in my school, i don't mind to win because i don't like the prizes lol but if i'll within the first 12 my work will be show in a japan restaurant (in Firenze/Florence) for a couple of month, and this could be a great opportunity ^_^
Lineart in SAI, color in photoshop... time... undefined! Prospective took too much XD

yes.. at last they choose me but want me to print in a big format... the print would cost the same of the first prize also those days i think not much people go to japanese restaurant so i decided to retire myself XD

hahaha yes xD I don't think about it unless the lineart was already finished, and it took too much to finish to change somenthing (i'm not a prospective master at all)
Honestly i don't know when the "samurai time" was ended indeed, plus hangers were not used for armors i suppose, but without them the sensation of "open the door on the past" that the wardrobe give whouldn't be the same, so... artistic's license lol
I've done this piece more with heart than brain xD

well it ended fairly late actually the last possible samurai conflict was in 1877 but their heyday was at least 200 or 300 years prior
you could see it as an elderly japanese man born in the 1920's or 30's brought up with very different ideals about bushido and family honor things that dont really matter any more these days so he looks at the armor which has been in his family for ages a family heir loom and he wonders what will happen to it and about the honor and glory days of the samurai and his family
that way you also open a door on the past 
art is still fine though
