Lyk lolz. Before anyone else points it out, yes, this stamp is a parody of ~zaininsbride 's "No Yaoi, Bitch!" Gojyo stamp. I don't intend it as an insult, and I did read the artists' comments.Of course, we're all entitled to our opinions. Here's mine:
Gensomaden Saiyuki is one of the last fandoms in which I'd consider yaoi to be OOC. Really, whether you consider it evidence or merely fanservice, the series is positively stuffed with male-male implications. If you don't like it, you'd better steer clear of Minekura's more blatantly BL works such as Wild Adapter, Executive Committee, and Stigma.
Yeah, there's definitely some OOC yaoi. I mean, I've come across some dreadfully out-of-character fics for pairings I support. The occasional OOCness, whether it's serious or not, comes with the territory no matter what fandom you follow--and there's plenty if in-character yaoi as well.
If you use this stamp, please add it to your favorites or a collection just so I can get an idea of how many use it.

Thanks for comment~ I meant, I see a lot of out-of-character yaoi in the fandom, but Saiyuki yaoi isn't OOC by definition...does that sound right?
I highly recommend Wild Adapter. The artwork is -painfully- gorgeous and the story is addictive! That and the "pilot" volume for Bus Gamer are the only other Minekura series available in English. I really hope Minekura-sensei recovers from her illness without too much pain; she is a credit to the world of manga.

I hope she does too because she is fantastic. My best friend and I bought all of Saiyuki and Reloaded (manga and anime - though I don't like the English dub for Reloaded at all).

Oof, same here. I have all of the (stateside-released) anime, yet I can't stand either of the dubs. Actually, the animes themselves are pretty sucko too. The first series is all QUALITY and horrible coloring, while RELOAD is QUALITY and horrible animation.
But the BURIAL OAV is heavenly. *___* I hope it'll make it here.

I like the first series dub but not the second. I actually love the voice actors for the first. I could put up with the animation issues it was just the change in voice actors that really irritated me.

I've just started reading Saiyuki Reload because I saw the book and I liked the characters on the cover xD My first thought was "They're all male! OMG yaoi!" X3

Canon is defined as what the Artist interprets her story as.
SanzoxGoku and HakkaixGojyo are canon. Other people can interpret the story however they want, but Kazuya's favorite couple is Hakkai and Gojyo, and she's said it in interviews. So, <3 to you, and <3 to Kazuya. and <3 to the canon yaoi.

Absolutely. I couldn't see it any other way even if I wanted to. As a writer, one writes the characters as PEOPLE with their own motives and feelings, not just actions and reactions, and one can tell Minekura considers all of that in her manga. My very favorite example of that is in Wild Adapter, when Kubota wipes about everyone on that ship to rescue Tokito--even such a stoic character isn't without his own wishes and needs. (If you haven't read WA or that volume yet, sorry for the spoil.)

Oh GODS do! It's a really stunning series. All the beauty, darkness, and sheer badassery of Saiyuki, plus the yaoi is so obvious you'd have to be a complete idiot to ignore it xD

Oh, no doubt! I already knew it was a yaoi, since Kazuya has said in the interview that the point was to do a Hakkai and Gojyo story that is much more obvious as they are her favorite Saiyuki pairing. ^^

Seriously? I totally haven't heard that one! My friends and I often debate over which pairing the WA guys are more like, 39 or 58. They remind me more of 39 really, only with the seme being less tsundere and the uke being more "omg look at me I'm PRETTY!"

I'm only quoting what I read in an interview. The characters might have personalities that are way different from the two (as they have to be different characters), and I'm sure that Kazuya sama loves all of her boys, so there might be a bit of mixes in there, too--different aspects of each of them. I personally prefer Sanzo and Goku myself. XD

Really, I go both ways with Saiyuki. It's got its cute Non-Yaoi pairings...yes...but...the yaoi is awesome!

Oh I see. At CCTV they made a cartoon about Journey to the West [link] , but the quality of the video is not good because if you do it in fullscreen, it is SO unclear and the sound doesn't even follow the words in the theme song so I would rather use DVDs.

Oh god, how is there NOT implied BL and Yaoi in Saiyuki!? It's ALL OVER THE PLACE. Like when Gojyo was fighting with Goku in one of the final episodes and that poor hotel waitress got all flustered and he was asking if it looked bad. LMAO
And if you read the manga... it's even worse. Because the Goddess... is a hermaphrodite. And Hakkai and Kanai... were brother and sister.
Seriously, yaoi isn't that far off the mark. I laugh in the face of anyone who says otherwise.
And if you ever decide to read old fairytales involving Buddhism, they openly state about male-male relationships between the acolytes and their masters. xD

Exactly. Have you started on the Even a Worm arc yet? The anime doesn't show it so much, but Bishop Hazel is gay and comes on to Sanzo shamelessly. Plus, oh gods, the AUDIO DRAMAS. O__O Gayest thing ever.
For instance, there's one in which the ikkou is playing a word game with in which the loser must perform a striptease. Hakkai picks "nicknames for Gojyo" as the topic, knowing full well that Sanzo's turn is right before Gojyo's and most likely to provoke him. So Gojyo messes up and has to strip, and Hakkai seems way too happy about it.

See, I'm in LOVE with Illyich's voice, so switching away from that made me sad. xD But it's all personal preference so it's better not to argue about it. There's always the Japanese version so it's all good. ^^
