Description A sketch from the other night that evolved into something more, of one of my newly uploaded toko-kids, Mora.
She turned out looking very dog-like in the face but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I did want her to have a bit of a kangal -feel so it's cool.

I love your style! What kind of brush in SAI do you use for the lineart?
Edit: also, I love the fact you know what a Kangal is, they're my favorite breed.

Thank you so much!
I don't have any fixed settings and I always change them around depending on the style, I just go so-so on everything pretty much. However, whenever I go for a painterly style like this, the brush settings are more or less something like this: i.gyazo.com/5be14ffeef6f4d2aba…
I want the lines/sketch be with thick strokes for easier blending and relatively light (darker than the base coloring of course (i.gyazo.com/3966c9a7db349893b1… )) and usually brownish in color, mostly because I like them brown but also because it's more natural than black? Sometimes I set the lines/sketch on multiply or overlay. The brush size itself of course varies on the canvas size! The size of this painting was small compared on my usual scale, so the brush is only size 12, but in my usual scale (full A4 or larger) can be up to 20 and over. Hope I'm making at least some sense!

I'm super critical about dogs and dog breeds in general, and have a bit of a love-hate relationship towards breeds like the kangal, in that I like how they look, but am also aware and concerned of the health issues surrounding them. The average dog and dogs as an animal have never meant to be very big, and the larger they get, the more structural issues they have. With large breeds like these that are bred primarily for their size, structural issues are extremely common and simply just not good for the dog. It's the sort of a "I like this breed but I feel bad for liking them" kinda thing omg
Edit: Not to mention the fact that many of these dogs have been bred to extend human ego, which combined with ignorance and lack of training is like handling a bomb. e_e
