I doubt this would ever happen in the anime like this if our precious couple got together, but it sounds fun to think of characters like Calem, Alain, Miette, Misty and so on all trying to tear them apart just to make Ash their boyfriend or Serena their girlfriend all at once and the love birds don't hesitate to hold each other possessively while venomously professing that no one is going to take Serena from Ash or any girl will rob Serena of her darling Ash. A little over the top, but hey, what do you expect in an anime? Amirite?
