If I was in charge of everything, this is how the game would have ended, because D'AWWWW ;_; I love how it made me feel sorry for absolutely EVERYTHING that was trying to kill me, seriously.

also, GLaDOS is totally Chell's mom. Just sayin'.

I finished the game a few weeks ago (I know, I'm late to the party!) and this picture illustrates how I think it should have ended. Seriously, I could just picture something like this happening, and GLaDOS could use a good hug, anyway. I also kind of think she feigned deleting Caroline altogether, telling Chell to "just go" so she (GLaDOS) wouldn't have to deal with how she was suddenly feeling, concerning her.Β 

The whole thing just made me sad. I wanted to hug GLaDOS myself.

(Am I the only one that noticed that GLaDOS looks like an unwilling woman bound in a fetal positon? Her 'arms' are bound to her side while her legs are also bound side by side and in the air O-e Whenever she moves, it's as if she's trying to break from these bounds or so.....Maybe that's a hint that Caroline never wanted to be GLaDOS?) Have you ever heard of PotaTOS Lament? If you haven't, you really should listen to it. I'm not sure if Caroline is the one singing or if it's GLaDOS, but we get the message either way....

You know, there's a whole theory explaining how GLaDOS can be Chell's Mother and it all makes since. That would also make Cave her father, then. It makes since that while she was Caroline, she could have sung the song to Chell when she was little, knowing she wouldn't understand til the time was right. Caroline could have had the Opera Turret/Turret Wife record her voice while she sung for Chell and simply hid the turret afterwards--Should I continue or just stop here?

Yes. Yes yes YES. I am in 100% agreement about how the game should have ended. All things considered I don't really think Valve could have taken the game out on a non-comedy note ("Here, take your shit and get out of my house already.") but man... if they had re-bonded as family... I feel like this is the ending they actually deserved.

With the ending song implying that Caroline wasn't actually deleted, it makes me wonder if GLaDOS has a Laguna complex - she genuinely cares, but to Chell's face she can't own up to having originally "abandoned" her child... she would just rather that Chell not know at all, after everything that happen.

That would also make Cave her father and her last name Johnson. Would it make since if her full name was Michelle Johnson while her sad, unwilling mother would be GLaDOS (whoever said she wanted to become GLaDOS??? She was literally forced into it....) who was previously known as Caroline Johnson while her father is now (possibly) the Oracle Turret or maybe even that giant King Turret. *shrugs* Just a theory, but I totally go with the GLaDOS is Chell's mother thing.

Hell yes, this is totally how it should've ended. I love the style of the drawing, and the way that GLaDOS sorta looks like she's happy in the hug, but at the same time sorta confused. Well, that's what it looks like to me anyway.
