Seriously! So many pokemon are rendered useless because of their stats. Why couldn't they have made all the pokemon useful, unless not being useful was part of their gimmick or something, like Magikarp or Feebas. "Oh man, I'm gonna use a Sableye this ru-TERRIBLE BASE STATS FML"

Not only their stats, but also their types.
The types make the game even more unbalanced... -w-°
Grass & Bug types have it rough (one of my favorite pokemon is Leavanny, fire and air atacks deal 4xtimes more damage to it because of its types...)

Oh well, back then GameFreak probably didn't think much about stuff like balanced competitive gameplay between players, and they don't want to change the Pokemon formula too much.

Heh, in the beginning it probably wasn't a big deal if things were unbalanced (Looking at you, Gen I Psychic), but when Pokemon exploded into such a huge thing you'd think they'd work a bit harder to make things more equal. The Physical/Special split certainly helped, especially for pokemon like Crawdaunt (one of my favorites), with huge attack but Special types, so they couldn't get STAB without gimping themselves. :[

But yeah, now it's probably too late to change things more than a tiny bit at a time. Apparently in BW2, Bug is gonna hit normally instead of half strength vs. Ghost, which is...cool, I guess?

I wish all types would have the same amount of weaknesses and resisten...ces? resistenses? (sorry, english is not my native language XD)
But i'm always gonna love pokemon. : P

It would make things easier, though I do like the variety of some types. Like how Steel is amazing defensively because it has so many resistances, but it's kind of terrible on offense, since it also gets resisted a lot.

Mostly it's just individual Pokemon that have randomly awful stats, making them unusable. Like Arbok: cool Pokemon, terrible stats.
