I read the book many years ago, so yes I know the ending of the story. That's really sad. They built 3 fantastic and attractive characters on purpose, and people cultivate their affections on them, so when the third film is out, everyone will have a deep emotional impact... That's good for films if the viewers feel strong emotions, isn't it? And this is Tolkien's story... his stories're always about some tragedies (but I like them omg), when the last film come out, I know there must be a lot of people cry... definitely for myself >_<
