Beautifully done. I an totally see the WW2 era poster style to this, and the rising sun circle with the heart seals the deal. I think my only crit may be her eyelid, as its tough to tell if you meant it to be open or shut with the style you did the faces in. A hint of eyelashes may solve that...but it works with the minimalism too, so either way.


I love the perspective of his glasses and the line of movement within the paper and planes. And kudos for using illustrator.

Thank you so much for such an awesome comment! Nahoko's face was definitely something that gave me trouble in comparison to Jiro's; the eyelash suggestion is a really good one. I wouldn't necessarily wanna go back and change it now that it's been entered in the contest, but I would definitely try out that suggestion later. Ultimately I left any other details out in favor of the overall minimalism, so I'm glad to hear you think it still works OK regardless.

Awwwwwwwwww thank you!! I'm flattered you like it that much!Β Β  I love Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, as well, so that's really why this was a contest I was interested in entering in the first place. I haven't entered any others but I thought this one might be right up my alley. I had the idea for this pretty much the INSTANT I read the contest info, so that's definitely why I was able to do it relatively quickly even for my own time standards. I'm really glad you enjoy it and thank you for such a big compliment! Β
