At one point my mom and I had 8 cats in the house, she had 4 to begin with, then I moved in with two, then my aunt passed on and left us with two more. They all used to gather on my moms bed in the morning and stare at her while she slept... waiting for the tuna. eventually she would get up to make coffee and feed them breakfast. All of the cats would swarm around her ankles meowing... god forbid her to ever wake up to there being no tuna...

Good story, wonderful story. It's like the cat gatherings in Greece. Science doesn't know why cats gather and sit together, they just do. Maybe Clive Barker said it best: "The great and secret show." People say cats can't stand eachother, but that goes against all knowledge.

I'm a cat nerd. Crazy about cats.

My mom just got a black cat from a cat home. (Abused cats, you know the deal.) He goes along well with my Rasputin, they have such fun together. I told her Rasputin didn't need company, but nobody listens.

My friends all know that I am going to end up being the crazy cat lady when I am older...

There is a great fairy tale called "The Colony of Cats" that has a very wonderful moral. (I actually relate to it a lot with my step mother and half siblings, who don't really care for other creatures much) [link]

One of my feline friends (I currently have 3) Owley, I got her from the cat rescue society (same sort of deal as your mums cat) when I got her she had just had an operation to have her eye removed due to a neglected infection by her previous owner, she had 7 staples in her face. I fell in love with her, and now she is the coolest cat ever, she climbs on to my back and rests her front paws on my head and tries to catch the cursor on the screen when I use the computer. Although she is fairly useless at trying to murder little animals and jumping, (as she has no depth perception...) she is very entertaining.

You're not going to end up a crazy cat lady, sweetie.

I looked at your link. Such sweet cats. I mused.

Your cat sounds like a darling. If she (is it a she?) tries, that's good enough. I love cats that are afraid and then learn to live and be happy again, it's so cool. It puts a smile on your face when they show up and stroke themselves on you...

I believe she is very entertaining. I laughed a lot when I read your story.
