This is a baby Diaboluthey are born with his bluish fur that serves to blend with the land and keep their body temperature, however, once they start growing older, they start losing their fur, until they reach the teenager years, when their skin starts to harden into nearly shell like shapes, until they become fully hard skinned, fur-less adults.

When teenagers they are a mix of adult and infant, they start losing fur so you can see the fur less areas and the skin becoming harder and more reddish.
