Looking back at it, I probably went a little too hard on the shadow -- many have stated it looks more like a rice-ball or a rock and such. Guess the shape is odd too. Though maybe that's why he's sad.

i think the Sad Boulder should have been a tad darker with a bit more rough texture (which would look a bit, strange though)
this perhaps needs to be smoother with a bit more of a gradient. *shrug* who knows really. your work, do what u think looks best

Yeah, I'd agree with what you're saying here. There's no way an egg and a boulder/rock should be shaded in the same fashion. Obviously one should be smoother and one should be rough.
But my premise for the 'sad series' was to use the same type of shading for completely diff. objects. We'll see how it goes.
