Something to get me off my burn spot. In my younger days, being the drunken fools that we all were, the boys and I would take just about any friendly game you can think of and turn it into a drunken, manly competition. One of our favorites was the board game Sorry, (seriously, I'm not kidding). I can't remember exactly how the game went now, but if I recall correctly, near the end of the game, you needed an exact roll of the die to win the game. So as one of us was in the position to do this, the rest of us (did I mention that we were drunken fools?) would chant, "Burn! Burn! Burn!", along with other assorted verbal abuse, all in hopes of prolonging the game in such a way that the outcome might end up more to our liking. Of course our idiocy was not limited to drunken board games, we were equally vicious in our other competitions as well, particularly the one where we tried to figure out who got the last bottle of beer...

So anyway, a 'burn spot' is simply a point where you can't seem to advance, or in my case, my creative juices have slowed to a trickle, or a slow annoying drip.
