The pearls are amazing, you're brave to tackle that fabric (is that stuff called lace?) and to have done it so well. Great job

Thanks for looking, and your kind compliments!
The pearls were sort of a quick job, and will be better in the painting.
I'm not sure of the glove material would be classified as lace or maybe "net", but I'm calling it either/or. Glad you like it!

I forgot to mention: its also quite lovely because you're not trying to copy the great masters. Theres nothing as tacky as painting a portrait of someone modern with old-timey clothing, trying to be like Leonardo. This really works nicely because of the way it blends the masterful style of the great masters with contemporary portraiture.

Wow. Just wow. And this is pastel? I thought it was already in oil, your style of painting really is beautiful.
I have to say I adore how you tweaked the image and really made it your own. The things that make this piece extraordinary for me are:
the colours: stunning work with the colours, they work together beautifully and I love the slightly multicoloured background. Its very delicate.
And the pearls are fantastic. I recognize this technique from Flemish painters in the early northern renaissance, now THAT takes skill. Extremely well done, they really catch the eye.
Beautiful, beautiful work here, I hope to see the oil version soon! It should be magnificent if this is just the study for it! I wish I could paint like you.
