Description: Legionary Ko'Rath of the Sons of Horus Legion 1st Company 2nd Catulan Reaver Attack squad. He was a Cthonian-born Astartes who was recruited by the Luna Wolves at an unknown date in M30 after the discovery of Horus Lupercal, the Primarch of the Luna Wolves legion, on the planet Cthonia and the Luna Wolves reunited with their Primarch. During the events of the Great Crusade, Brother Ko'Rath fought ferociously against the enemies of the Imperium of Man until the Ullanor Crusade and climbing through the ranks of becoming as a member of the Legion's 1st Company Assault squad. After the Imperium's stoic victory over the Ork Waaagh! of Urlakk Urg, the Luna Wolves Legion were renamed as the "Sons of Horus" to honour Horus and the Legion's accomplishments.
As the Great Crusade continues on, Brother Ko'Rath continued to accompany his Primarch in various campaigns until his fall to the ruinous powers of Chaos and sparking the events of the Horus Heresy. During the Battle over Istvaan III, Ko'Rath was among the Reaver attack squads who participated in the Traitor Legions attack against the loyalist legionnaires under the command of Captain Saul Tarvitz and Captain Garviel Loken on the planet's surface after the loyalists survived the orbital bombardment. In that battle, he viciously cut down many loyalist Astartes with his power axe and executed them with his bolt pistol. After purging the loyalists legionnaires in the dead world of Istvaan III, the traitor legions faced against the loyalist legions of the Salamanders, Raven Guard and Iron Hands on Istvaan V which would become later known as the Istvaan V Massacre. With the defeat of the three loyalist legions on Istvaan V and Horus possessed nine Space Marine Legions under his command, the path to Terra was wide open and it would lead up to the events of the Battle of Terra.
During the Traitor Legions assault over the surface of Terra in the final days of the Horus Heresy, Legionary Ko'Rath and many Reaver attack Legionnaires fought with ferocity and brutality against the loyalists defenders comprising of Imperial Fists Astartes, Blood Angels Astartes and numerous Imperial Army regiments. At that time, the Chieftain of the Catulan Reaver 2nd Assault Squad was struck down by a Custodian so Brother Ko'Rath assumed command of the Catulan 2nd Squad and defeated their attackers with haste. When news came out that Warmaster Horus was slain by the Emperor of Mankind, the traitor legions broke off and fled to the Eye of Terror in order to escape destruction from the hands of the loyalists. Years later, Ko'Rath participated during the Legion Slave Wars in the Eye of Terror to destroy the primary fortress of the Emperor's Children. After that said conflict, the Sons of Horus were renamed as the Black Legion now under the rule of the newly declared Warmaster, Abaddon the Despoiler. Ko'Rath later became a Chaos Lord and led a warband that is completely loyal to the Black Legion and later fought against the Imperium of Man for 10,000 years later.
During the heat of battle, Brother Ko'Rath was equipped with a sub-pattern power armour that is said to be a combination of the Mark II, Mark III, and Mark IV power armour. His armour possesses the Cthonian Serpent Glyph symbols in his battle plate as well as on the right shoulder pad as an indication that he is a member of the Catulan Reaver squad. When engaging in combat, Ko'Rath was armed to the teeth with a Cthonian Pattern power axe for melee combat and a bolt pistol for range combat. Optionally he can equip himself with a Phaeton pattern jump-pack to unexpectedly drop into the midst of his foes to launch a close-combat assault
Notes: The Cthonian "mirror-coin" tokens on both of his shoulder pads and left hip serve as a sign for claiming honour in battle. Right knee pad denotes the squad number.
