Possibly I did tire of drawing what I see. Β Usually these days my slash artworks are illustrations for author's fics, so that might have influenced me quite a bit--becoming more abstract and conceptual maybe? Every so often I'll do a drawing off the TV--pausing it and drawing what I see, but usually I just have a whole bunch of reference photos for poses or how they look in profile or whatever, or sometimes I don't even bother with that, depending on my mood.
