I just have to say, too at this point in time Korra is strong without Mako by her side. She can manage just fine.

Love that Korra is awesome on her own. Used to love her with Mako but now I'm fed up with his fickleness. If she must have a relationship, I vote Zuko 2.0...I mean Iroh II. Otherwise, she can keep being awesome solo.Β

Yeah, but a very tiny part of me is still clinging to Makorra. Oh well. Mako has to do something amazing if he gets back with Korra.

Then after that, Unalaq needs to get his butt kicked.

Haha. Thanks. I did have a sketch of Mako ready for this piece, but then I was like "Nope! Korra doesn't need a man by her side when she saves the world."

I'm hoping the future episodes will improve the characters, and Korra was a lot calmer in the recent one. While Korra did have a right to be upset early in Book 2, especially at her father and Tenzin for locking her up, I wish the writers put some emphasis on WHY she was so upset instead of just glossing over it and showing her angry all the time. With Bolin, fame got to his head (like it does with a lot of famous teenagers and young adults), so he'll probably learn some humility soon. At least Bolin hasn't started drinking, doing drugs, excessive partying, brushing his teeth with a bottle of Jack... or worst of all, experienced a Britney Spears meltdown.
About Mako and Asami, while there are a lot of issues with how they are written, I think the most glaring one has to be the love triangle. After watching Book 1 and nine episodes of Book 2, I wish Bryke stuck to their original plan and made Asami an Equalist spy. The love triangle would still exist, but Mako would have been justified in breaking up with Equalist Asami instead of him looking like an indecisive jerk in Book 1 (and maybe Book 2). While I would love to have a strong, female non-bender on Team Avatar, the writers have not done Asami any justice.

Both Mako and Asami really disappointed me last night. Maybe they'll redeem themselves before the end of book 2.

Yeah. Mako and Asami's relationship wasn't properly ended by the finale of season 1 anyways. He just basically said, "Ok, I'm with Korra now, but let's just put aside all of the screwed up emotions and get along like we're best friends anyways, k? K." It was obvious that there was still some leftover feelings between the two of them. Anyways, if you don't mind me asking, how do you think they could redeem themselves by the end of this season?

I'm not sure how they can redeem themselves. I'm hoping the future episodes will answer that question.
