One of my favourtie teachers did this to a student of his a few years ago. He's a chemistry teacher, so of course he has acid, strong acid at his disposal. I took a picture of this for something else and this is the original photo of the damage.
So he told us, that in one of his classes there was a student that was constantly on his cell phone, so one day he asked the kid's parents if he could put the cell phone in acid and the parents said yes. And he did, he told us that kid started crying.
