Did I mention that I wanted to experiment with the morning glory's star shape?
this is one of the pieces that came out. Instead of painting the star after dying, I left white on the petals to create a more natural gradated star. My favorite is the morning glory in the middle; it looks quite lovely, wouldn't you say?These flowers are made out of charmeuse silk, and hand painted (with dye) by me. ♥ I use the Japanese technique called tsumami * kanzashi (pinched/folded * ornate hair pin). Each petal was folded one-at-a-time before being arranged.

Yeah...yeah, this works wonderfully! The effect is stunning and looks very natural! The reflection of the light really makes me think of stars or a moon in the night sky, and the colors match accordingly!
