I don't often get asked to make black colored hair pins. ^_^ But this one I wanted to use some of my vintage kimono fabric in an unusual design...In the language of flowers, the iris means many things. From the sorrows which 'pierce the heart.' to promise in love...and of course, wisdom, valor and courage. It is a much loved flower.
When done in chirimen (this deftly woven silk in a unique pattern), the folds are bold and playful.

It's funny that a lot of people don't ask you for black hairpieces, because I get that request every now and then. I think online customers see your gallery and get enchanted by your more colorful stuff, so they opt for that instead of the basic black. But you guys know how to make anything more than 'basic', lol
