And here we have Cayke, the Cookie Cook from L Frank Baum's "the Lost Princess of Oz", as a Mermaid! Once again just like Gloria and Rosalie and Ozga, I referred to some thumbnail sketches I made back in 2022 to help me remember some poses for future characters ... Cayke actually had three, but this is the best one I chose.

Had some good flexibility with this Yip character, both good and bad because in the original book Baum doesn't say anything about her appearance except for being "dried up " and "skinny arms", while John R Neill had the habbit of drawing most of his females the same and / or younger and different from what Baum may have described. Since Yip is SouthWest in Oz on a Mountain, I thought it would be good to have orange in her attire and fin (South is Red, West is Yellow, Red + Yellow = orange).

This is a case where seeing the real thing is better than the scan and I wish it was better and more accurate, but I'm still glad to have gotten this relatively simple sketch and image done today.
