I've never had so many comments in all my time on DA (combined! LOL!) so it will take me a while to thank everyone who comments and fav's - but I will try to get to everyone! Thanks again! I'm glad that so many people appreciate needlework, and the skill and effort that goes into creating a piece from scratch!

Well, a project of this size would usually take me several months to complete. It can be done faster, but I don't have a LOT of time to spend on them.
it's actually very relaxing, time spent keeping your hands busy while you are watching tv. You should try it - you might like it. I'd suggest starting with something easier your first time though

Wow, you STITCHED that? How long did it take you? I stitched a small shoulder badge once, and it took me two weeks. I applaud your dedication and endurance.

Parts of this were stitched by me and some by a model stitcher. I can't stitch everything myself or most of it would never make it to publication!

I do enjoy doing some needlework from time to time, but I haven't done any for a while.
I wouldn't know where to find the pattern, and buying all the colors, plus the canvas, and then the original pattern, can get pretty expensive. I'm trying to put myself through university, so I can't afford it right now.

yes, acquiring all your supplies can add up - but it's one of those hobbies where once you have a good supply of threads, etc, it really goes a long way.
Maybe once you are out of School you will have more time and money to get into it.
