Description I was inspired by two things here.
Firstly, this:

Drawn by the wonderful and funny ~rivka-nikola (go check her stuff out! It's ace!)

And I have been reading Calvin and Hobbes lately...anyone remember the strip where they're dancing to classical music records turned up to 78 rpm?

So yeah. It's me and Felix gettin' down. I was listening to "Not Fade Away" (the Grateful Dead cover, it was originally a Buddy Holly tune) and so I imagine them dancing to that...

Just a fun doodle kinda thing.

Aw, my favorite C&H moment. I was so sad when the comics were discontinued, but I guess Bill'd gotten bored with it.

You captured the original well with this cute ikkle "tribute". I like how Felix looks in the hat. Y'know what would be adorable? Felix the CAT (watched the old cartoons as a kid). That thought just popped into my head, the genius I am. *rolls eye*

Thanks! Yeah it was sad, but being a cartooniost myself I can understand it. Things sometimes just get stale...or the ideas dry up...etc.

Yeah Felix does look good in the hat. I agree.

I knew their poses instantly reminded me of something, but my feeble mind refused to tell me what, and then I read your artist comment and it all came rushing back to me. Good ol' Calvin and Hobbes.

Best part of this picture is you can insert whatever music you want. It's just the happy music dance!

Yeah I love him in a ball cap. I think it suits him. And he definitely needs little on it.

And you really did inspire me, plus I needed to call some attention to your stuff cause people need to go over and check out *your* awesome stuff.

Yes, that too! Your style is great due to how nostalgic it is, it reminds me of For Better or Worse before the artist changed the style.

Thanks! Yeah I am really inspired by the old school stuff...
Calvin & Hobbes, B.C., Beetle Bailey, Frank & Ernest...to name a few. I like when people tell me my stuff reminds them of the more classic cartoons and comic strips. I grew up studying them...never just read comics, I'd study them real carefully. I picked up different aspects of my style from all over.

Well I have been drawing since I could uh...pick up a pencil (sounds so trite, don't it? But it's true!)...pretty much have done it all me life, yup. I just have had a lot of practice, some dynamite art teachers...a mixture of a lotta stuff.

Many people tell me my work reminds them of Hanna Barbarra's work. Then again, I'm not sure which influences are there to list because I study styles so much.
