Description This is my cartoon tribute to my pal, Rebecka Persson (known on here as ~Baroquecat ). If you didn't see my journal entry, she passed away earlier this week from cancer.

This is the hardest cartoon I have ever had to draw. But I feel really good that I did it. I got "poetic" here (yeah I'm not much of a poet). But I do hope she got to finally meet Felix. I'm gonna miss the heck outta you Becks.

I hope that maybe somehow she can see this and it'll make her smile. I know her best friend is making sure to display it at her funeral along with photos and the cool dolls she made. I hope her family digs it.

Sometimes emotional pieces like this know how to bring out the best in artistic minds. This is certainly one of your most impressively colored pics, the flow of all those colos really work well and blend together nicely. Top that off with your always awesome cartoons, and this is a prime example of why your artwork is always such a treat to watch. Well done!

I was trying to 'illustrate' Felix's music, if that makes sense. I mean, I can't read it but I can draw it! Thanks for the comments buddy. Yeah she was a good friend and this is the first toon I ever had to draw for a deceased pal. Not an easy thing to do by a longshot. But it made me feel better, kind of more at peace with the whole deal, y'know?

Great tribute! It's a really nice gesture, and I'm sure she'd appreciate it, wherever she is now. Again, sorry for your loss, and my sympathies to her family, should they happen to look here.

I'm sorry for your loss This is a breathtaking tribute.
Maybe physically she's not there anymore, but I believe that as long as you'll think of her, she'll be by your side

How sad that you lost a friend, but how amazing that you were able to make something so beautiful in celebration of their life.

This is gorgeous, and in my personal world-view, it is an absolute that the good energies you put into this were passed along to your friend.

Thanks so much. It sounds weird, but it almost felt like she was watching me as I drew this. I know, sounds goofy...but man, she was a really cool person. I am glad that you got that from this, because I really did put my heart and soul into this. I will miss her badly, but this made me feel really good.

I don't think it's strange at all. A lot of "strange" things happen in regards to death and loss, and that level of reality ( if you believe in such things ) is so far beyond us that who's to say that it is or is not possible for a being to visit beloved friends and give them all of their love and support as their final good-bye? It seems to me that pouring so much good into something would be almost like a beacon, too, don't you think?

Yeah I'm not sure what I believe. but I think there is some kind of afterlife. At least I'd like to think so. I'd like to think that a person can at least look in on their still living friends now and then. And I don't totally disbelieve in ghosts.

I think scepticism with a healthy dose of open-mindedness is a good way to go. Even if your beliefs aren't right, well - 1.) you'll never know what's "right" until you end up at that place of "after-life" yourself, and 2.) if nothing else, and if it's not causing harm to believe in, at least it gives one some peace of mind in the interim. :3

The colors are so vibrant, everything is drawn so well, and the poem is lovely. I admit that I'm nowhere near to being an expert on all those poetic devices and what-not but I do appreciate the sincerity of the poem. This is a wonderful tribute. I'm sure your friend would have loved your tribute. Perhaps, Felix would have loved it, too?
