Holy crap, I just survived another semester of college-- and forgot to ever post this!

... This was actually one of the most labor intensive projects I underwent so far this year, but it's a piece I'm hopefully going to put towards my senior show next semester, which should be exciting! Long story short, I'm going to be constructing a mock bestiary/field guide to monsters I've created, and this is the first of the bunch. I just call these guys 'mountain widowers' out of habit, since they're kind of a cross between a bighorn sheep, an arachnid, and a poisonous barbed jellyfish. Their tail hair is coated in microscopic toxic barbs that have a pleasure stimulating/addictive quality to prey animals, which they grow quickly and shed regularly, so what they eat basically finds its way to them instead of having to hunt. Eyes just rot out in adolescence though as the horns begin growing through the back of their heads, but they've got extra brain-case room in those things so their minds get all freaky huge and they're basically hyper intelligent silent killers or something.

... Either way, I'll actually start to do better anatomical drawings and so forth soon, but this is my starter image for this part of the project. Medium is just watercolor with some gouache touchup.

I couldn't tell you how many hours were in this if I tried.
