This is my contest entry for Dreamworks' "Dragon Challenge 2!"

I wanted to create some fan art that incorporated the beautiful landscapes of Berk. In HTTYD's art book, I found the perfect inspiration piece, and it lead to some challenges but I'm so proud of the results. It's super rough, because I didn't know what techniques to use for clear details like in HTTYD's concept art. It felt good to get out of my comfort zone though and start painting landscapes again. the last time I did one this detailed was last year when I made "Waiting in Metropolis" for a talent show: hannahspangler.deviantart.com/…

But now I'm done! I recorded 90% of this process so I'll be posting s speedpaint video soon. In total, it probably took me 6 to 7 hours.
