This is how I imagine Sara Crew, the little princess, would look like. I love that book, and the film! But... I personally think the book is though a little bit to sad... the dad SHOULD survive...Sara would never disappoint her dad, she is the perfect child! That's maybe why I like her so much, we are the opposite to each other...

I respect your opinion, and when I was younger I thought the same way, but now as a grown up and at least beginning storyteller, I understand that if Sara's dad at the end turn out to be just fine, the book would lost quite a bit of it's magic. Personally, I hate all adaptations because neither of them manage to make Sara's character right, watching movies or cartoons I never felt that I looking at an actual Sara Crewe, just some other random girl who happened to have a vivid imagination and by some quirk of fate happened to find herself in similar circumstances to the main heroine of my favourite book from childhood.

I love this movie. I haven't read the book yet but based of what you commented I'm affraid to read it (I don't want to spoil that perfect ending!, the movie is sad enough

there's also an old jp anime series, you know? ^^ you should really watch it, i highly approve the anime series. it's so exciting and dramatic that you develop real hatred against certain characters >_<

I personally prefer the movie than the book. Even when it's a happy ending, I cry every time i watch it! The ending of the book is too sad ;_;

I KNOW!!! It's so sad when her dad doesn't recognize her as his daughter, and then when he finally remember! *Happy tears* But the book is actually way to sad... I totally agree with you.

I like the book tho. But I like the movie better, I like those kind of happy endings that make you cry
