Hello lovelies,

Welcome back for another day of Fossiltober! Today's prompt was Fancy and I had at first a difficult times, I could choose a T. rex skull, as they are more commonly sold to collectors all over the world but in the end I went for this image I saw once, an image of an object both strangely familiar as well as weird to me! I present you, the Ammolite crystal

Ammolite crystals are a strange and peculiar substance found on the fossils of ancient ammonites. Like their cousin the Nautilus, various of species have a layer of aragonite on the inside of their shells. This is a natural crystal on the inside of the skull that makes it stronger and which the nautilus itself produces out of Calcium naturally found in the water. In the case of Ammolite crystals, the crystals were buried under anaerobic circumstances, where the crystal couldn't decompose to Calciumcarbonates but instead, due to pressure and temperutre, turns in Ammolite crystal, a highly valuable, rare and multichromatic crystal."
