Description
Giganotosaurus the second largest known predator ever walked the earth. It was slightly larger than Tyrannosaurus. (13m in length with a skull of 170-195cm) it might had the longest dinosaur skull but in total length it was smaller than Spinosaurus.Giganotosaurus may have preyed on the truly gigantic Argentinosaurus. Soon when I finish the other two models I will upload a series of size comparition based on Greg Paul and Scot Hartman skeletal drawings.
My 3D model is based on Greg Paul skeletal drawing.
first I created the entire fossil in Maya then modeled that body over it, used Headus UV layout for UV mapping, Zbrush for details, displacement and normal maps, Mudbox for texturing and finally got him back to Maya for some Vray\Mray scenes. and ofcourse some Photoshop for texturing and post work.
Now I will try to improve the rig and SSS shader, and hopefuly more other dinosaurs to finish.

very nice mate, really good work... and the skin is really good camouflage, meaning I wouldn't mind some more contrast between the dino and the background

aaand to clarify some more I think if you wanna demonstrate the effectiveness of mother natures camouflage it is absolutely top. But if ya wanna show of how bloody cool your dino is it's gotta change^^

Excellent model! The skin texture is fantastic. The background overwhelms him a bit though...too much of the same color maybe. Also, he casts no reflection in the water.

Good integration into the photo, especially the legs submerged in water. Model has some problem with shader, looks too "dried", and I think that material on the mouth membranes shouldn't be the same as on the rest of the body.

Thanks bro, I totally agree with you, even though I tried changing the specularity many times I still couldn't achieve the proper skin shading, you know ATM there is no SSS it's all blin\phong materials. Hopefully the next scene I will pay more attention for it, again thanks for the feed back.
