I have such a strangely love-hate relationship with this costume. The 2011 CBF marked my tenth anniversary year of cosplaying (I started at the 2001 CBF in a very bad Slayers costume), and until this point I had never been on the float. Imagine how happy I was when I got a third place and finally, after ten years, I got to ride the float all the way to Japantown! It was windy and crazy and I got sunburned, I had pulled an almost all-nighter to finish this so I was wearing enough makeup for a mortuary client to cover up worse than normal dark circles, my costume wasn't perfect, but godammit I was on the float and I felt like a sparkly pop princess and everything was wonderful. Unfortunately, I'm not very used to wearing very girly stuff (this is why I'm the Makoto of the im@s group I cosplay with!!!), so a lot of the photos have me with terrible body language or the outfit flopping around to make me look heavier than I really am. It took me months before I could look at the photos and go "You know, I'm not quite as thin as the in-game model for Makoto, but I don't think this is all that bad!"

And since now I'm at the point where I don't hate every picture of this costume, it's time for im@s spam. Starting with this. I love this picture!
