I know most of the fandom calls Inuyasha's top a "haori", but it's not. A haori is an overcoat, like that thing Tanetenma wears. The big white coats the captains wear in Bleach. That's a haori. That is not what Inuyasha wears. In fact, the outfit Inuyasha wears doesn't really seem to fall into a category of Japanese clothing. The closest thing I've found is a suikan, which is what Hakudoushi wears.

Yeah, I know (although the neckline is really bizarre for a suikan, and it seems to be sewn up the sides instead of being open like a suikan). I just figured less reply-confusion was probably better.
