Why is his skin color a big deal. If someone wants to draw him white, that's their choice. If someone wants him asian, muslim, black, as a fucking fish, who cares?

Because he's a character that someone took the time to create. And this fanart that includes that character. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it the fact of the matter is that Ekko is black not white. I don't really see the point in coloring his skin color like this anyone's. If you have a character that belongs to someone else and you don't even draw that person with his actually skin tone. Of course people are gonna call you out on it. It doesn't matter if it's a white guy drawn to look black or a Spanish guy drawn to look Asian. It's all looked down at for a reason. I have a few black oc's and I would hate if someone just decided to draw them white instead. Because that's not really my character and please I'll ask you to not curse at me it's not necessary.

You do realize its his drawing? He gets to do what he wants to it. Even if it is someone else's character. Riot gives people the permission to draw their characters how they want.

Ok let me be more forward with this. Whitewashing is wrong and people are going to call someone out on it like a few people did to this guy. You might not think it's wrong but other people do not share that same opinion.

I'm fairly certain I already address this in one of my previous comments. It doesn't matter which way it's happening it's all wrong. Have a person that's white and someone turn them black. Having someone that's Asian and turning Spanish all of it is wrong and racist. I never said it only applies to black people. That's only a part of what whitewashing means. It applies to every race that's not white hence the white in the name. But yes as you stated it does happen to white characters as well again never said it didn't. The fact of the matter it's a lot more common the other way around. But either way it's something that should never happen. I have nothing against the artist the art it self looks fantastic. It's just that well Ekko is black.

Hmm... Not as grandepic as it could be given the presence of a wind-wielding swordsman, an earth-bender and a time-manipulating mage with a sandstorm in the background but the texture of the sand and the overall technique make this quite notable !!
