Description 2 Problems with girlish whimsical non-scripting

First- I have a brilliant idea for the next page and forget it in the midst of exams.
Second- I freak out and realize that the more I use these characters the more historically inaccurate they can become. XD

DUN DUN DUNNNN IT'S FEM!SPARTA
And of course Fem!Athens thinks she's responsible for her new look.

Athenian women by default were not supposed to read or write... but as I said reality doesn't always reflect the ideal. It's possible that Athenian women would have learned to read or write from a male relative or even a slave... just 'cause. XD

Even though Sparta is known for its high degree of freedom for women, reading and writing were not a luxury either sex enjoyed. (So at least they're still fairly egalitarian, I guess. XD) Literacy was thought to spawn ideas and creative thinking (the very thought!) and was actually one of the reasons Sparta was so afraid *cough you heard me cough* of Athens.

Edit: So I'm an idiot. Sort of. Actually, both Spartan men and women learned to read... but only until the age of 14, and it was really really basic stuff. Let's just say Laconia's forgotten a bit. XD Plus, they have different dialects so she might just be double checking. Eheh.

Oh, and speaking of Spartan women, there wasn't really a high degree of fashion in Sparta for a couple of reasons. One was that Spartan women were supposedly the most beautiful in the world and they didn't need tons of make up and pretty clothes to look beautiful, but the more important point was that accumulation of wealth and vanity were seriously frowned upon in Spartan society. I believe that every so often for certain festivals, Spartan women would parade around naked to teach them humility. (That and they did their exercises and such either in short chitons or partially if not fully nude.)

But she's still looking purdy todaaaaay... maybe a little too purdy. XD;;

ENJOY MY GIRLISH WHIMSY AND PASTEL COLOURS WHILE I CRY EMOTIONALLY OVER MY LAST TWO FINALS TOMORROW.

Well this is Attica, its not that surprising. They have similar freedom to the men, I guess this doesn't really help in the cases the men don't have much freedom either. Sparta is afraid of ideas, and creative freedom. Sparta is afraid of Athens, nobody should tell Athens this it would just go to his head. So showing off wealth was frowned upon in Sparta?
Well I guess fancy dress would probably not work well with exercising. Oh, hopefully Attica won't get jealous.
good luck on your exams

Spartan women probably had a bit more freedom than the men since they got out of school (the barracks) at a much earlier age and hang around (I still am not sure what Spartan women tended to spend their days actually doing, haha.)
Haha, yeah, better not mention that to him, eheh. Oh well, he'll find out it a couple chapters anyway... XD
Aww, thanks! >3< I'll go study for a bit now, for serious.

Oh well getting out of the barracks early would have been nice. I don't know what they did (not that I expected you too) I don't even know what Spartans did for entertainment (or did they just believe in exercising a lot)
Oh will he now, but Athens ego doesn't need stroking.
Okay yes do that, study well

Well, my prof said that their dry humour was kind of the spice of their lives, but the Spartans were pretty fond of music and dance. No one knows what their music might have sounded like, of course...
oh right studying doing that

Oh they were fond of music and dance, would the woman have enjoyed that. I don't know maybe they just did the same thing as the men or maybe they didn't your the one who knows about them.
Yes get studying I should stop distracting you.
