Okay, so I really wanted to try something different for this entry. No standard pose, a little more detail into the background (which I find extremely difficult), AND I wanted to try a lineartless drawing. I have never done that before, so it was quite the challenge. I realised I needed to use shading to really define Karim's bodyparts, in stead of just giving them a bit more depth. So I kept on going back to the shadings. Also, it meant that I had to make the manes and tail pop out without my black lineart, so there as well I used way more shading to define the flowing of the hair. I am extremely proud of how Karim turned out!
As for the background, I almost always use a utterly simple background. No details. This time I wanted it to be more accurate, so I used a tutorial (listed in refferences). It turned out way better than I expected and I learned some new tools along the way!
The pose offered some challenge because of the strange perspectives, but I really wanted to try to let the birds walk in between his legs. The birds are supposed to be Quails, but they are a tad big.. xD Let's say that there are very special, very big Quails in Greece.. They are inspired by the Quails in Bambi & Snow White from Disney.

Isa and Alex loved that the HARPG World Tour from 2018 took place in Greece. It meant that they could make it a nice holiday! Isa had never been to Greece, but had always wanted to go there. So she imediately took the chance! Karim loved it as well. He loved warm weather, he loved sun. The competition was at the beach, and he loved the beach! What he didn't know was that the theme was birds. Karim wasn't very sure of birds.. But when he got to the beach he saw a mother quail and three quail babies walking around. And he was reassured, those he didn't mind at all! He walked up to them, his head low, carefully stepping forward. The young birds quickly ran towards their mother, and hid behind her. The mother wasn't scared however, and cocked her head, trying to decide what to do with this large four-legged, non-feathered thing. Soon she decided he was at least not a threat, and she just went on with her business. Karim walked around a bit, and soon he was in the path mother Quail has chosen. That didn't matter ofcourse, she just went through the stallions legs. Her chicks weren't scared anymore, and followed her. Karim, surprised at first, looked down at the bird and her youngsters. After that, the chicks went their own way, and Karim played with them for a bit. Ever so carefull ofcourse.
Well, it seemed like Karim also loved birds!
