Hi everyone. Here's my new piece "Demo Painting" (catchy title, right?). Take a wild guess which game inspired it...

I'm putting together a couple of lectures for my students next year on how to tackle an environment painting as well as looking through Photoshop and the various tools it has to offer, how I go about doing a painting, what went wrong in the process, what went right etc etc.

I still need to wade through the numerous screenshots and captures I've took as I developed this image, but I might be putting an online "lite" tutorial on my blog soon. It needs to be "lite" so the students, you know, actually turn up to the full lecture...

So, if you're interested, watch this space!

Currently, I don't have any live capturing software set up through Photoshop, so this video is built from a series of screen captures I took throughout the painting (which took a while to sort through). Quite a few of the frames also have writing/expanded menus on there as these images are also going to be used for some lectures next year. So, sorry if there's any confusion at all.

Also, try to check it out in HD. I only ask since it took 6 frickin' hours to upload the thing YouTube, so it would be a shame if that time was wasted!

Anyway, hope someone finds it useful.
