yeah i never understood that concept...
what's the charm in calling the person you supposedly love an idiot with little to no reason?
how is calling someone "idiot" affectionate in any way?
if someone were to try to call me that in any way, cute or not, i'd take it as it's designed to be taken. as an insult.
and turn the other way and not even bother to entertain the conflict.
it's a word designed to be of contempt.
i also understand that "Baka" stands in between "idiot" and "silly"
it's not as powerful as one and not as harmless as the other.
but it still isn't nice anyway and i don't understand why anyone would willingly do that to the person they claim to "love".
this is used in anime so often that i lost interest. (oh and the beatings, don't get me started on that)
i'm currently dating my first girlfriend for about 4 years now and this word is rarely used... (idiot that is) and when it's used it's a demonstration of contempt, not affection.
(such as in an argument)
