A drawing of a Barn Owl. This has been done with my new Derwent Drawing pencils, they're really good for doing fur and feathers so I thought I'd try them out on this one first. It has been done on brown textured paper.The photo I drew this from is

Wow quite shocked this one doesn't have any comments as I think it's one of my favourites. The detail and tones in this one is beautiful, making it like very life like! As said in a previous comment I love details and this is full of them, I love the fine details of the feathers sticking out the front, the slight brown ring in the eye, the little freckles in places... Just beautiful work!!!

Thanks. The shape of his face is slightly off, a bit too squished, but appart from that I'm really pleased with this one. I used new pencils for this one which are really soft so blend really well to get the feather texture. I'm glad you appriciate all the details 'cos getting all the little freckles in the right places is a little insane
