This is charming - that lovely little jab on her arm is soooo Snape-ish!

Awesome work. I didn't notice his finger at first, but even without it, it's a great work of art. All those details... this must have taken days! Minerva's expression is perfect. I kinda miss her glasses, but I know how they are annoying to draw, always covering the face and especially the eyes at this angle.
Great job!

They are, aren't they? Always in the way when you want to concentrate on the eyes and everything. I can relate there.
Then again, it seems important to draw people with glasses in order to undermine dominant contemporary beauty ideals. Just as it is important to draw chubby people and people with normal proportions. Especially women.
That's my current main concern with drawing, anyway.

Eh, I don't see glasses as opposition to the current beauty ideal, so it's not terribly high on my priority list. I'd rather take a stab at ridiculous beauty standards that try to make women into children (shaving-not allowed to have any real body hair at all; acting dumb and powerless; the "cutesy" voice; common vernacular such as "baby" "shorty", etc). I see that as far more damaging.
But, you could say that McGonagall has them in her pockets, so she doesn't have to put up with actually seeing the scores, or Snape. XP

That seems to be a wise approach. *lol*
God, yes, I know what you mean. Where I come from, the traditional gear for women (which no one ever wears these days except on special occasions and for nostalgic reasons) makes them look like baby dolls. I hate that kind of attire.

That's the problem with cultural phenomena. They affect men and women alike. Internalised mysogynism is no new concept to me, and yet I find myself judging women more harshly than men on certain accounts. It is excruciating.

Here's an question: if you could go against one rule, one standard, what would it be?

Ah, difficult. I don't consciously adhere to many rules imposed upon women in our society (though, I am sure, there is a lot I am not aware of). I'm a bit weird that way - it's a mixture of laziness, me not bothering and me not realising what is socially acceptable and thus not realising that change is required.
Oh, I think I've got it. Assuming that it is society's expectation of women's behaviour which made me so cautious in everyday interaction with potential authority figures, I'd like to lose that. It is my firm view that this kind of behaviour stops people from taking you seriously and considering you for leading positions.
That said, what I'd most like to change is people's take on that, of course.
How about you? Which rule would you want to break? And what would you do, if you could change other people's behaviour and/or attitudes?

Exactly that. And that fear isn't unfounded either. There are studies, if I remember correctly, where people assess each other's degree of bossiness etc. and women with "male" speech patterns always come out looking worse than the men, being called "bossy" and all that. Hermione is a perfect example, of course. The number of times she is called bossy in the books when her behaviour really is never worse than Harry's in DH.

Ahahahahahahaha.
This this is the last thing I expected to see this morning, but it is a good thing. Wow. What a child you have suddenly become, Snape.
This is very well drawn and executed -especially Minnerva's face... holy cow!

I agree. I think Miverva felt Severus betrayed her. Not just the Order but her. And I understand her anger. I think she was indeed betrayed, but not by Severus: She was betrayed by Dumbledore. They all were...

But she wouldn't have known about Albus' betrayal until after. When Harry revealed Snape's true loyalties, it would have opened up an entirely new wound, as she realized that her beloved Headmaster had lied, and that she'd mistreated her ally and friend. The poor woman probably dealt with terrible, conflicting emotions for years after that.

Hahaha! Well, everyone has their fantasies. I think he was ready to die. There's no way it took him by surprise... he'd been around the Dark Lord long enough to know that Nagini was as much a weapon as a pet. He had everything arranged, and I think he was ready to be free.

*Sigh* I know I'm just selfish, you know ?
I truly wanted him to have his happy ending. Maybe he had, in Heaven or wherever that awaited him...
My pairing had no future though I think they're made for each other (once Hermione's grown up a little bit more).
Anyway, I love snakes, a lot, but Nagini made me dislike them a bit...
Darn snake ! D
arn Voldemort !
Oh, dear... *sigh again*
Well, if we don't dream, what else can we do ?
My life has been all HP since I was 8 years old... That's a long time, and now that there's not more books, at least I have my fantasies
