- From Amazon Lily to Punk Hazard -Lotsa amazons & mermaids this time. In all honesty many of them were background characters who got a few lines at most, but it turns out I really enjoy drawing mermaids, and the amazons had a nice common theme going on too, even if their capes were a huge pain.

I highly enjoyed this project, mostly because One Piece is quite diverse in body shape. Some characters look so bizzarre and out of place that they actually seem too out of place to be out of place, if you get what I mean. They fit in a lot more because of how different they all are. I enjoy how they aren't Barbies, but at the same time, they aren't fucking bloated. And the facial shapes as well. Not all women are pretty or perfect, and not all men are in shape and buff. I really like Shyarly
And at the same time, I haven't watched one episode of this anime whoops

I'm actually more on the opposite opinion; while the guys are pretty different in body type, most of the important female characters have the same skinny hourglass body. It's a real shame really since the the background females in the Amazon arc show that the author can draw different kinds of women, but whenever he needs to draw a pretty one who has more than a few lines they all look pretty samey.

Koalas and monets first ones are particularly dynamic and endearing.

Thanks! Especially the first Monet is among my favourites as well.
Posting the finished pictures on tumblr on a regular basis certainly helped to keep the project going. I'm not sure how far it would have gone if I had to just sit on all the drawings and post them all in a huge bulk.
