I wanted this so badly to be a hoax when I read the headline a few hours ago. I was actually reading the manga at the time. It's so very upsetting. Thank you for posting this.

I've liked Berserk for years and had it on the list of things I wanted to experience, but I didn't become a true fan until earlier this year, finally sitting down to the '97 anime and then starting the manga. I knew it was good and something I would enjoy, but it's far better than what I ever knew. My story is different than Berserk, but I've come to realize that Miura and I approach our writing very much the same way. This news shouldn't be so upsetting to such a new fan, but I'm still trembling slightly inside over it. I have a fiery passion for good storytelling, and it's such a tragedy that he wasn't able to finish his great work of art.
