Description Billie Holiday (1915-1959) singer

Althought she hadn't any training as a singer, she followed in the footsteps of Bessie Smith or Louis Amstrong in order to develope her musical point of view. Her phrasing, intonation, focus for the importance and subtlety of lyrics and even her begginings slightly out of beat were very personal and became a very important influence.
