“Report!” yelled Admiral Adama as Galactica completed an uncontrolled FTL jump to who knows where. “Damage is bad sir we have lost our FTL drive fuel do not get me started. All ships are reporting damage.” Replied the XO. “What about Pegasus?” inquired Adama as the ship groaned in protest of something. “Pegasus her FTL drive is operable but her fuel reserves are dangerously low.” Said the XO. “Launch Raptors we need to know where we are!” yelled Adama with authority. “Yes sir!” replied the flight deck leader. In the Port side launching bay the 18 or so Raptors that Galactica had launched and pretty soon they found out that all the stars where in the wrong places. Then they checked the charts and found out that they were on the edge of a Galaxy arms.

Flash Back two hours earlier

“Action Stations! Action Stations! Set Condition 1 throughout the ship! Set Condition 1 throughout the ship!” yelled the Deck Officer on the Bridge. “Report!” shouted Adama as he ran into the CIC. The DRADIS said it all four Cylon Base ships had jumped in and started shooting. “Cylon Base ships launching Raiders!” yelled the DRADIS operator. Sure enough, the DRADIS screen was starting to get crowded. “Launch Vipers!” barked the XO. In the portside launching bay Viper Mk IIs and Mk VIIs thundered out of the launch tubes. “Weapons Free!” cried Lee “Apollo” Adama. The three KEW cannons on his Viper Mk VII thundered and blew a raider out of existence. “Nice shooting!” said Starbuck. “Oh frak!” yelled Starbuck. “What wrong?” asked her wing man. “Galactica there is a raptor still out here I am going to find him!” yelled Starbuck. “Roger Starbuck bring him home.” Replied Adama. Starbuck winged her Viper Mk II into a wide left turn. Moments after completing the turn she hit the afterburners. The Viper thundered and sure enough, there was the Raptor running for its life from a Heavy Raider. Then blue blobs of fire suddenly began to go whizzing by her Viper. “What! Where did you come from?” said Starbuck. As a Raider had somehow managed to pull in behind her. She cursed then cut power to the Viper engines and whirled the Viper around. Then fired the pair of KEWs mounted in the wings red blobs of fire, which were actually bullets, peppered the Raider then a part of its wings was sheared of the raider and it tumbled out of control. She wheeled the Viper around and punched the throttle. The Raptor driver must have been good because he was leading the Heavy Raider on a wild goose chase. She finally caught up to the Heavy Raider “come on just cooperate!” growled Starbuck under her breath. Now she finally had a shot and she took it. KEW rounds ripped into the Heavy Raider then one of the engines exploded. Heavy Raiders were tough but slow. More rounds impacted the Heavy Raider. Then it lurched went bottom up and then rounds found the fuel tank and it became a sun for an instant. “Come on let’s get back to Galactica.” Said the pilot. “Agreed.” Responded Starbuck. Pegasus fired her main battery 12 missiles streaked toward their target the base ship fired anti-missile missiles but they missed and then lazy turned and followed the missiles in a brilliant flash as the top and bottom sections of the base star separated and then intense explosion as the base ship disappeared. Galactica gave an order to get out of the way then three nukes raced toward a second one obliterated it. “Incoming ordnance!” screamed the DRADIS operator. “Brace for goddam impact.” Said Adama. Moments later, a nuke impacted and everyone was slammed to the floor. “Time to leave.” Said the XO. “I am with you on that one.” Replied Adama. “All Vipers return!” snapped Adama. Then the last Viper was aboard. “Retract the flight pods.” ordered the XO. The flight pods had just finished retracting when the helm officer cursed then cried “FTL has overloaded!” “WHAT!” shouted Adama and the XO together in shock. “Galactica to fleet everyone hang on!” shouted Adama into the fleet broadcast channel. Starbuck had just stepped on to the flight deck when the weird sensation of a FTL jump happened but it was too soon but the Viper next to her got bigger. Then the sensation ended and she found herself inside a Raptor upside-down. “What the Frak!” shouted Starbuck in surprise.

Flash Back Cylon Point of View

“The Humans shall pay dearly for destroying our Resurrection ship.” Said John Cavil. “Jump!” said the hybrid in its trance like voice. The jump finished and the attack began. “Launch Missiles!” snapped Cavil. The ship shuddered as four missiles streaked to the Galactica, which had been a thorn in his side ever since the fall of the twelve colonies. However, Adama reacted fast and an Enemy Suppression Barrage was established and shot down all four missiles. “Launch Raiders and Heavy Raiders!” growled Cavil. Raiders thundered out of the Base ship. Optipo was in his Raider, was squadron leader, and responded by saying “By your command.” Red blobs of energy streaked at him he did something similar to a grunt as a round punched through and hit him then his raider exploded. A raider launched a volley of missiles toward the Pegasus. Her auto cannons fired in full automatic for ten seconds nailed the missiles and the raider. The base ship shuddered. “One of our ships is burning.” Said the Hybrid in a trance like state. “Dammit.” Said Cavil. “Radiological alarm.” Said the hybrid in the same voice. Two minutes later, it said “One of our ships is burning.” “Prepare to fire an all-out nuke barrage!” snarled Cavil. “The enemy fleet is preparing to jump!” said the hybrid in its trance like voice although with urgency in its voice. “FTL has Overloaded we are jumping now!” said the hybrid stunned. “This cannot be good and is probably going to hurt!” said a stunned Cavil. The sensation of a FTL jump washed over him. He awoke rubbing his head. “Damage reports coming FTL is off line enemy fleet is not on DRADIS most raiders have been destroyed!” said the hybrid. Then a number eight said as she staggered into the command center rubbing her head. “That fraking hurt! Who screwed up!” she shouted. “Our FTL overloaded I have no clue where we are.” Said Cavil trying to calm her down.

Starbuck stomped into the CIC wanting to yell at Adama. “Oh great here comes trouble.” Said the XO as he noticed Starbuck. “Hey Adama you might have some explaining to do in a moment.” He the whispered to Adama. “Now Starbuck before you do anything stupid I think you need to know that our FTL overloaded and that we are only the Gods know where.” Said Adama to Starbuck. “Okay sir but still that really hurt.” Said Starbuck. “Agreed because the CIC is going to be put back together.” Said Adama.
