I'm completely unimpressed with horror movies nowadays. A veteran viewer knows that the scariest thing about a movie is not WHAT you show, but what you DON'T show. Because the human imagination can do a much heavier number than any amount of cgi and latex. Which is why the classics are still the top dogs when it comes to scaring the crap out of people.
(Viva La Hitchcock!)
This special effects bullcrap today is ridiculous.

You and me both brother, thoughI am a fan of the super gore of the eighties. I really hate how recently (the last few years) everytime I head out to a movie I say to myself, 'This is a great plot, what a friggin amazing script.' then leave dissapointed because they threw in too much cg or they changed gears halfway through and went from decent movie to the ridiculous. I'm also not a fan of how directors try to make up for a weak movie with buckets of blod and loud noises.
Anyway, thanks for checking out my work!

And have you noticed how everything is gray?
And there's usually water involved.
I suppose that's what we as a people get for endorsing the free market.
"All right, you can have Naruto, but you must take Ju-On and Ringu as well! Mwahahahahahahaha!!!!"

you have no idea how much I love this O.O this is some of the VERY best Jason art I have EVER seen. I love Jason so much X3 I love when really skilled people such as yourself take the time to draw a REAL good picture of horror killers :3 it gives the killer that much more respect XD this is totally an insta-fav on my part! awesome, no, phenomenal job on this one!

Sweet, thanks for checking out old Jason here. Before I drew him I looked around the net to see what was allready done and found that very few people drew original shots of him that weren't from posters or press releases. I wanted to do something no one had seen yet and I hope I got close to that. Michael Myers is forming up quite nicely right now so maybe in the next few days I'll finish him up and get him loaded into my gallery

WOW. That is absolutely amazing! At first I couldn't believe that it was colored pencils! Wish I could color like that, and draw like that but I guess practice makes better. Which I need to do some practicing if I wanna get better! O_O Too bad Jason is so damned hard to draw....

I've only been drawing with color pencils for the last year or so, maybe a year and a half. I always did graphite drawings then one day someone suggested trying Berol Prismacolors so I tried them and then on a whim I used them on colored paper and loved it. Thanks for checking his one out, glad you liked!

Beautiful pencil work and technique. You do a great job of creating realism with you strokes of color. Love the splashes of red blood. Wonderful work.

Thanks Tom. When I draw I plan out what's going to happen, but I have yet to actually see the end picture turn out how I imagined it. That's not a bad thing, just a sign that the picture has it's own plan. Some artists are super controlling with their work and strive to get it just as they saw it in their head, and I am to a degree but I also love how you can flow through a piece moving from section to section and back again and when you step back from it everything just magically comes together. Listen to me sounding like an art guru. Ha! Thanks for checking this piece out!

I hear you, man. I tend to start with one thing in my head before the picture takes on a life all its own and dictates what I draw. Rarely does what I start off to draw make it on to the paper.
No problem, bud--great work.

That's good to hear. I wanted to show some of the human emotion Jason has. He drowned because camp councelors weren't paying attention or stopping the other kids who were tormenting him. Also the camp councelors years later killed his mother (yes yes she was trying to kill them first but hey why squiblle over details) He's cinema's classic momma's boy right along side Norman Bates. So showing that side of him was what I wanted to focus on in this portrait because I don't think it's been done before and I wanted to avoid the 'just another Jason drawing' label. Thanks for checking him out and stay tunder for the last installment of this homage to 80's hack and slash.
