Description Recently I spent two weeks in the Outer Hebrides, alternating between squeeing over the plant life and aahing at the cloud formations.

Lewis really does have the most amazing skies.

Anyway, this is the central complex of Callanish, which is a sort-of circle around a tall central stone with stone rows/avenues leading off it so the whole monument from the air looks like a cross. It's on the west side of the Isle of Lewis, and is one of the few places you can see tourists in their natural habitat.

Thanks! Have you been there? It's fantastic.

We visited a number of stone circles while we were on Lewis. I plan to paint at least one more of the Callanish circles.

This is incredible. It reminds me of a group of druids meeting for a ancient ceremony frozen in time.

Thank you! It is an amazing place, and in certain lights the stone rows really look like processions.
