ah the meatshield i me and my battle got smoked by our drill sargent when we where doing urban training. I put our m240b on his shoulder and we ran down the street shooting the gun at the fake enemies (blank rounds) we killed em but it really wasnt worth the about 170 push ups

I believe this was a historically authentic method of firing a german General Purpose machine Gun during World War II, odd as it may seem. If they survived the war, would they come home deaf?

I always wondered - Did the guys who held bi-pods had some sort of ear-protective gear? Or did the design of Stahl-helmets drew out any noise?

Es una dramatizacion de un habito comun entre los soldados con las MG ,mejor estar un rato sordo que perder tiempo o la oportunidad de disparar primero.

I instantly LOLed, and will even ROFL if I found out that the Germans actually use this tactic. Surely the survivors today would have something worse than arthritis..

The German army stopped allowing this a couple of years ago.

I would not want to be the man in front, especially with the tin hat. I've fired MG42's, they RnR!
