Description I've always had a love for mermaids, and I probably think about them more than I should. Per example, check out the pair of anatomical sketches in my scraps. They're only skeletal , but they were the result of a great while of studying and tinkering.

Anyhow, the lovely lady pictured her is from a story I wrote a long time ago. Her name is Selene, after the moon goddess, and her fuzzy friend is Nereus.

What a nice concept!!! The picture just radiates such a friendly mood. It´s a curious thing that the cold colours you used here create such a warm feeling. The best part of the image is just the way their expressions look like. You immediately can see the harmonic relation between the mermaid and her cat. You did a very good job with the proportions. It´s really refreshing to see that there´s a talented artist out there, who doesn´t draw ordinary. I always appreciated such surrealistical art that´s full of interesting ideas. I really enjoy it to see how much detail you put in your work. Especially the mermaids fine-streaked hair and the beautiful reflections of moon and ice-floe are an evidence for that.

I love the colors. The immediate words in my head are "frozen moon glow." I like the fuzzy friend. It reminds me of an egyptian cat. I see the strokes in the sky, that's unusual, I usually can't tell where you're strokes live and take off. But the rest of everything is picture perfect (literally )
