A picture from the last shoot. He does have eyelashes now! Teeny blond eyelashes that are impossible to see anyway... hehe.Topaz shares a nonchalance towards dirt with most of my other dolls. Dirt is good for dolls. Sling your doll in the pond. Drag them through a bush. Do it today! It's a liberation from those kind of people who put on little cotton gloves before they touch their dolls. I simply do not comprehend that kind of practice and frankly I don't want to.

I don't even own a doll (yet) and I also can't understand that. Why do these people buy their dolls and put so much money into them when they are so afraid that they get broken or dirty in the first place? (of course it is better to be careful for something so expensive but that kind of behaviour is pretty exaggerated). And the dolls will get dirty or start yellowing after some years anyway...
But seeing it from a psychological point these people may be afraid of their dolls becoming "ugly". And I agree with you: better to have a dirty, sick looking doll with personality and a soul of its own than a perfect, clean and 100% "beautiful" one (for the owner at least because beauty is something very subjective) which looks soulless and sterile.

I think you're right; I think it also maybe stems from some kind of perculiar idea that the doll is sacred and it cannot be touched by human hands! Dolls are much tougher than they look they and can withstand a fair bit of abuse. God knows I chuck mine around all the time. And Wolfe has broken his finger but that is entirely 13's fault; he kicked him off the table. Revenge is sweet

I think you should add the broken finger into the story and make it an official part of it XD (Maybe 13 bite it off?) But yeah... depending on the quality of the resin they should be able to endure a bit of misuse. If you are a caring owner you will make sure to handle them right. So I think touching them and keeping them in your bag isn't really dangerous then and being extremely picky can make it worse. People who are to afraid of hurting something will often do what they fear.

Well I wanted to work it into the story but it's hard because of course Wolfe is made of titanium which would be impossible to bite through, especially for 13 who, being part frog, part sponge and part sea slug (all of which are toxic), doesn't have very strong teeth. His defences are the poisonous mucus he exudes in stress (it's pretty gross) which can corrode Wolfe's artificial skin but isn't quite strong enough to melt titanium, though on real skin it can cause burns.
Couldn't agree more! I love the dolls of this girl [link] because she's not afraid to get them dirty, dusty, muddy etc.

Hm... maybe 13 poured a chemical from a bottle on Wolfe's hand and that was a very strong acid (strong acids can really melt anything. Fluorhydric acid is extremely strong for example and used to etch metals. It can destroy almost every metal except gold and platinum. And I've read that it dissolves Titanium easily. A pretty nasty thing and it is feared among chemistry professors... when students have to use it in practice lessons XD)
So you can't cuddle 13? He might posion you when he is in his dillusional state again...

Ah, well 13 has caused many lab experiments in the past! In fact it was him who actually killed Felix by overturning the jar where his brain was kept. Wolfe had managed to keep it alive in a special machine but 13 accidentally smashed it so Felix was 100% dead. When Wolfe found out he beat poor 13 to a pulp and threw him out of the lab. So 13 went to join a freak show and then got taken back by Wolfe who didn't want the government to study his little freak
Ah, how fascinating! Chemistry is so very frightening and sinister, I didn't like it at all at school though I always regarded it as very important- just beyond my brain to understand 
The thing is with 13, his toxins come from the creatures he is made up of and so are kind of strange in the way they act. For example, sponges in themselves aren't poisonous, but they are able to attract bacteria within their bodies that combine together to create a poison. Frogs can become poisonous due to things they eat, and sea slugs are, well, just generally weird
Basically you wouldn't really want to cuddle 13, poisons or not; he's very weird and unpredictable, and needless to say, entirely unused to the idea of being cuddled. He'd probably think you were trying to kill him by suffocating him

And poor guy always gets beaten up and almost killed. I really feel the urge to hug him ;__;
Wow, the chemistry teacher was really odd. I don't think he would have been allowed to such a thing... here in Austria XD (especially because there are strict rules about dangerous chemical substances wich like to explose or can cause a breakdown).

Yeah, some people is really strange, but maybe they're just worried about the quality of the doll, you know, they want to sell the doll after a couple of years and get what they have paid. (In the beginning I was like that kind of person too, but I realize that dolls aren't fragile as I believed).
I can tell you: my dolls are already dirty because there's a lot of dust in my house XD

I can understand it, I guess, from people who own dolls with very limited faceups, wigs, clothes etc and who are terrified of damage. Luckily for me my dolls have a kind of dirty, grungey aesthetic so dirt doesn't matter
