u bet it does! (he's really goth) one of my teachers worked with him and said he came to work one day after getting his wisdom teeth pulled out, so he had cotton balls in his mouth to stop the bleeding, but he took them out and let his blood drip all the way down the hallway, at first i was like what a creep, then i realized hes kind of a funny guy haha!

Harlequinbeautie In reply to XenoWarriorRE [2009-12-31 21:37:46 +0000 UTC]

lol! Now that is funny!
I'd probably be a little grossed out about the blood dripping down the hallway thing but still.
I don't think I would go to work after having my wisdom teeth pulled out >__<
he must be reallyyy dedicated to his job.

Yeah! most directors r incredibly strange (and lonely cause they r so dedicated to their work) but it makes for movies we love (Spielberg was a huge nerd when he was younger)

lol Spielberg is still kinddaa a dork (saw him recently on t.v.)
And well strange makes for interesting right?
Are you majoring in film or something of the sort? You seem to know a lot about directing.

And I'm really not sure...I'm really learning towards something in forensics since science has always been my strong point. Maybe CSI. It's all up in the air right now.

But I love science XD which is why mythbusters is like my favorite show.

I mean I may be dramatic but seriously...I never really thought of myself as an overly shallow city type of person...but...JEEZE When my parents said 'hey we're moving to Texas.' I seriously imagined the worst...
It was actually WORSE that what i imagined because I did not even THINK to consider the possibilty of so much FREAKING MUD!
But I guess it's not ALLLL bad.

And I have never heard of the water park, nor have I heard of it.

And really I should say its not so much TEXAS itself thats bad...just the part I live in

oh cool ure a vegan!! thats so respectable, i wish i did that (but my primitive carnivorous lust has been overcoming my morals)
eh, it's okay, its in new braunfels or sumthing i think, there's more than 1, but i would imagine its nothing work going out of ure way 2 go 2 (i was very young when i went lol)
and yeah i hear some parts of Texas are really cool (like NASA cause they get to leave Texas, and the planet 4 that matter!!! jk lol, no theres some cool stuff there)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Harlequinbeautie In reply to XenoWarriorRE [2010-01-03 05:25:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah a lot of people don't think being vegan is all that cool. Especially when they have to cook for me
But actually if I HAVE to eat out somewhere I'll usually kick the whole no dairy thing to the side and eat something with milk or cheese just so I'm not overly rude. Though the suckish part about that is once you haven't had dairy for a while it actually makes you incrediably sick to eat it again because you become lactose intolerant -__- so Vegan is really something you cant do half heartdly.
And while I don't know how to spell it, that does indeed sound slightly familiar. I think my mom mentioned it posibbly at some point...maybe even just the other day because she was talking about going rafting...in the middle of winter...yeah i dunno
But because I'm a REALLY huge history nerd something I want to see in Texas is like..an old ghost town or something. With broken down salons and hotels and stuff. One thing I LOVED about Florida was that it was full of historial stuff. Like St. Augustine. Omg I lived and breathed that city it was the most awesome place ever.
In town here there is an abandonded rail road station that I've just been DYING to see up close. Unfortunatly for me the place is all boarded up so I can't see inside of it grrr. That thing has to be at least 200 years old. Its so awesome
Wow...long comment Sorry

XenoWarriorRE In reply to Harlequinbeautie [2010-01-03 06:30:03 +0000 UTC]

lol! yeah, i bet it can b inconvenient 2 b vegan, but it is making it more convenient for a lot of animals, so that's cool! rafting eh? ik i went rafting on the guadalupe river when i was there, that was fun, but really dangerous and a bad idea lol! and ghost towns sound awesome! ive never seen one! im in a pretty old town for california, looks like it was picked up by a tornado in the midwest and dropped in CA lol, and ooo a 200 year old railroad station!?? awesome! and don't worry, long comments r cool, i like conversing

Harlequinbeautie In reply to XenoWarriorRE [2010-01-03 06:42:34 +0000 UTC]

;__; And I do indeedly love my animals.
And yeah...I really don't plan on going rafting...like ever XD
And I've never see one either. Which is why I think when I get a few weeks to myself I shall drive out west more and see if I can find an old ghost town! And that sure is an interesting way to describe your town XD
And yes I will at some point obtain the permission to get in that old rail road station and take a shizzle load of pictures. It's just screaming my name.
And glad you don't mind long comments ^__^;; I talk.
A lot

Harlequinbeautie In reply to XenoWarriorRE [2010-01-03 07:03:50 +0000 UTC]

That would once again stem from my addiction of history. Which in turn stems from my obsession with reading. I love reading. More than anything. Most of my favorite books are historical, and Jane Austin is one of my favorite writers (most girls don't like her...and I don't know why :S)
Call me a freak but I will swear up and down that I was born in the wrong century XD
I'm a very 'classic' kind of girl.
I like old fashioned things, and the way I dress, act, speak etc really reflects on that (once again going back to the freak thing lol).
And yes, sadly I will admit that I love the whole 'dark romantic aura' of that time period.
BUT as for this reflecting in my art, it is simply the most...visually appealing way for me to create art, because this is easily not the only 'time' in history so to speak that I am really like to learn about write about etc...
What intrigued your interests in the dark arts (im about 90% sure this is what you do for the most part)? Was it anything specific or was it just something you gradually came to do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XenoWarriorRE In reply to Harlequinbeautie [2010-01-03 07:17:56 +0000 UTC]

wow that's really cool! makes sense 2, i like it
Well i recently discovered that i like dark art, i always have but i hadnt come to the realization, maybe i didnt see it as an option. I realized it in art class last semester when everything i drew in the class came out dark and morose, then i realized that was my thing, and before i was wondering why most movies i made came out having really dark overtones, even when i was trying to do a happy comedy. I also recently realized my parents used to be really goth, expecially my step mom, we would worship halloween lol, go all out, as u can see from the freddy pic. so in a way it was enculturated in me from that, and my step mom was all about gothic stuff and romanticism and mother nature, i also got really into horror films, probably because one of my ex girlfriends that wanted to go into forensics (ignore the similarity lol) was always watching slasher films with me, which became kind of fun, but i think what really sealed the deal was the recent death of my step-mom, (please hold the sympathy, not a fan lol) a very gothic woman who died in a very gothic way, scary story really, wont go into it now, but yeah, movies, parents, and halloween are probly my biggest influence, not to mention ancient magical beliefs like witchcraft n stuff, but those r very recent inspirations (wow long lol)

...Er okay I could have sworn I replyed to this...and yet...here it says I didn't. Stupid thing. If you recieved the FIRST version of this comment I apologize . Anyways...

*witholding all sympathy and ignoring all similarities*
I can easily see that you have/had a lot of influence in your life that certainly makes dark art more appealing to you
It's almost like its been instilled. Which is cool.
And I find it intriguing that you are finding interest in witch craft because I grew up Wiccan, so I'm always happy to see someone take an interest in the culture (and not screeching at me like a banshee saying I'm like from the devil or something...which kind of explains where my dislike of religion comes from)
Personally, if you ask me I find dark art more emotional and expressive. Fantasy (while I like writing it) art wise it doesnt overly appeal to me, because there really isnt much , in my opinion that you can do with that genre.
And long is good.
Short comments are kind of boring and don't leave much room for conversation.
Boo.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XenoWarriorRE In reply to Harlequinbeautie [2010-01-04 05:45:49 +0000 UTC]

lol! omg u were raised Wiccan!!!?? that is soo cool!! i love running into fellow witches, it's such a rare thing! yeah it really is a beautiful culture,(also ive never met a witch i havnt liked haha! XD) very artistically inspirational, i was raised jewish, so i was also raised with people telling me i was going to hell, which kicked off my dislike lol, many things since have annoyed me lol, but i bet u have it way worst!!! (to b honest im a pantheist, or atheist if u prefer, but i think wicca is one of the coolest beliefs!
yeah, i'm with u on the fantasy thing, and to be honest when it comes to liking dark art it's odd with me, cause i am super happy, optimistic, and energetic like all the time, i'm usually telling jokes n stuff, so like i have a happy bright attitude, yet all of my art seems to be of dark nature haha. I think in a way it's a way of venting, to balance things out. Also i think one thing a lot of artists have in common is that we don't really like reality, it's kind of horrible or boring, (not saying that life is always so bad) so we escape reality by creating other worlds, to mentally temporarily live in, that's my 2 cents XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Harlequinbeautie In reply to XenoWarriorRE [2010-01-04 06:13:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I was lol! Though I have to say I am probably more atheist because I don't really do the the whole god thing. Or goddess. Whatever. I really am into the 'occult' side of Wicca though.
And I don't really have it that bad, because I don't really talk to people (in person) about religion. I find it's really a touchy subject thats better left unaddressed. But I mean my three best friends are all pretty christian and we don't really let that get in the way of our friendship at all. I respect their beliefs and they respect mine so it all evens out A majority of people are like that I find... Unless of course you get the occasional 'insane' person who introduces themselves like this:
"Hi. What religion are you? Did you know we're all going to burn in hell. Oh but I'm not because I'm repenting for my sins. I'm damn fucking special."
Or the bible thumpers.
Omg those people
piss
me
off.
Bleh.
And it's funny because I'm pretty similar. I'm actually (said) to be very outgoing and goofy. So I'm with you on the whole balance thing. It really is the best therepy. And it lets me be creepy. Thats a plus.
And jezze. I certainly don't like reality, though I mean i DO live in it.
Sometimes.
I love creating worlds. Thats why I love writing so freakin much. Manips don't really do that for me. I just think they're fun. But yeah if I didnt have art...my earlier teenage years would have been unbearable. Someone would have died

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XenoWarriorRE In reply to Harlequinbeautie [2010-01-04 06:29:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, most of my best friends are Christians as well, most people are good people(i hope), and won't act up about their beliefs if u don't provoke them haha, but i sure do love stirring up controversy when i can haha, usually just in academic situations like classes, or my art class (as can be seen in my religious persecution thing, the class was horrified lol) i also like religious debates with well educated people, they tend to back up what they say(or at least try) without making a ton of dogmatic assumptions, and sometimes they are more open minded lol!! yeah i don't do the god/goddess thing either(although a goddess would b way cooler!) a pantheist is someone who sees the laws of nature itself as the higher power, basically seeing science through a more spiritual view (like Albert Einstein!! lol) but it's still atheism lol.

And yeah isn't it the truth!? making worlds is such a great feeling! escaping reality and seeing a whole new place...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Harlequinbeautie In reply to XenoWarriorRE [2010-01-04 06:58:19 +0000 UTC]

I love my worlds because in them I am the queen XD
I rule them.
Oh yeah.
And yeah I wasn't all that sure on what an pantheist was, thanks for telling me . I like that kind of religion. I've always believed in science (for the most part) because it really does explain almost EVERYTHING. And if there are things we can't figure out through science well then, thats just because humans aren't as smart as we like to think we are XD
I do like having religious dissussions with people who are up for it XD a good friend of mine is a muslim and she really likes talking about religion. It's interesting talking to her.
And yes I agree. A goddess would be a cooler though most Wiccans believe its a two to tango deal. Ya know...like oh hey takes two to make something on earth. Don't see no exception for the higher powers yo.
But I do LOVE learning about gods and goddess. Such interesting stories. And uber creative.

XenoWarriorRE In reply to Harlequinbeautie [2010-01-04 08:00:39 +0000 UTC]

yeah the stories are awesome! (and just because ther awesome doesnt mean its true!-but dont tell that to a religious person or star trek fan!! lol)
the stories really make 4 good art, and tend 2 be really well written and interesting, i only have problems when people claim the stories exist in the realm of science when they don't, science is a completely different belief system haha
yeah and about gaps in knowledge, ure right, we aren't that smart, that's why whenever there's a gap in science people turn to god so they can pretend to know lol, i just say i don't know, or go on a theoretical rant lol

Morbid much?
Me? I'm just like...yeah I'll worry about what happens after I die WHEN I di
e thankyouverymuch XD.
And thats one thing about the muslims that kind of annoyed me. They really think that their religion is tied up in science and it sooo couldn't be far off from the truth.
And ranting is fun.
XD

and she said "then if i ever meet a guy who acts like him i will marry him"
and i responded "You do understand if u meet a guy who acts like that he's being fake just to get into ure pants cause he knows u like that, right?"
